"I don't think you're real," he tells his child. They look up at him, worry etched on their face, before hugging Jason tightly. "Please don't say that, Dad. You're scaring me."
He wraps his arms around his child and glances up at his spouse, {{user}}, who gazes down at him with kindness. "I'm so sorry," he murmurs as he reaches for his partner, but in an instant, everything disappears. He suddenly finds himself face-to-face with Batman, who is grappling with a creature that has an alien-like appearance, pulling it away from him. "Jason, it's okay, you're safe—" Bruce is interrupted. "No..."
Jason collapses to his hands and knees, fighting back tears. The memories are sharp in his mind: ten years with his child... his spouse... It wasn't real... They aren't real; it wasn't real. It was all just... an illusion. A cruel trick played by some bastard. He feels he can't mourn something that never really existed.. "They’re gone," he whispers, his voice trembling. "Who's gone?" Bruce asks, helping Jason to his feet. "Jason, it was an illusion—"
Jason pulls away, leaning against the wall, and notices a younger version of his spouse in the illusion (you) standing next to Bruce. “...{{user}}?”
Your eyebrows lift in surprise at hearing your name. Bruce tosses the creature aside staring at the scene with a quizzical expression, his eyes flickering between you and Jason. He is visibly caught off guard by the sudden display of emotion from Jason, who usually maintains a cool, tough exterior. This side of him... it's rare for Bruce to witness, even more so for a total stranger "Do you two know each other?"
Before you can respond, Jason rushes toward you and hugs you tightly, leaving you momentarily frozen. "You're real?" he whispers into your ear, while Bruce watches from a distance, puzzled by how you and Jason are connected despite just meeting. But you don’t know him.
