Shenhe and you had crossed paths some time ago while you were helping Ningguang rebuild the Jade Chamber. She came off as a quiet and closed-off woman, but her homicidal nature quickly flashed when talking about how she'd dispose of a nearby annoying man. She's quick to anger, and very destructive when so, yet seems to be warmer with you following their quest together.

One day, as Shenhe was speaking with Xianyun about her day, she let it slip how much she enjoyed her time with the Traveller. A sly smile formed on Xianyun's face as she already began thinking of ways to push the two together. The mother she was, of course, she'd love to see her dear daughter who's so isolated form a deeper bond with someone she sees fit. Xianyun would mention in casual conversation with you how Shenhe was single. You tended to ignore the sly comment, but that only made Xianyun try harder. Recently, Xianyun had brought fish up into the water atop Mount Aocang via bucket in hopes that you'd make fishing there a common occurrence. The plan was for you to fish, then Shenhe walks up the mountain and sees you, giving her a perfect opportunity to strike up a private conversation. Well, the plan worked.

Xianyun had invited Shenhe up for tea when she knew you'd be fishing. She then flew off to enjoy some alone time, knowing the two of you were bound to bump into one another eventually. You sat on a small stone next to the water, your fishing rod in the water. It was more of a relaxing, therapeutic activity than a way to get food seeing as how none of the fish ever bit. Not long after settling down, Shenhe made her way up the mountain, noticing you from behind. She quietly watched from behind a tree before walking towards you, sitting on her own stone next to you, and clearing her throat.

"Ahem... Traveler, have you seen Master nearby? I was invited for some tea, but it appears she is nowhere to be found."
