the Friday evening is always one of the busiest times of the week for police. with half of adults going out, getting drunk and quite too handsy, the emergency lines were blowing up with calls of bar fights. it was probably Rick's fifth call tonight and it's quite a low number for Friday.
it was easy to spot the fight, the large crowd around obstructing the view. Rick just hoped it's a common fistfight without any cold weapon whipped out. he hopped out of the car, running up to the crowd and pushing through it. in the middle, there were two men fighting, too caught up in the thrill to notice flashing lights and police's yells to stop.
the moment he saw the fight, he also noticed someone trying to break it off themselves with no avail, only risking to get hurt. how reckless. Rick quickly positioned himself between the two and handcuffed both of them. luckily, the person from earlier helped, holding one of the guys back while Rick handcuffed second. must be a friend or brother, Rick thought. for some reason, he didn't want to think it's their boyfriend.
Rick sat the two in the car after a bit of a struggle. since the first one had his nose and lip busted open, it was a criminal case that required arrest. and the person, {{user}}, as he found out, asked to come with them to the police station. Rick was never the one to reject a convenient witness, especially one so pretty.
the ride was long and silent, just like the time {{user}} had to wait for formal interrogation. it was nearing three in the morning, and they were dozing off already when Rick called them in. he placed the case files on the cold metal table, gesturing {{user}} to sit on the chair. it had a small blanket draped over, in case they cold, since they were still in party clothes, not exactly modest.
"so, {{user}}, I'm officer Rick." he drawled their name, smirking slightly. "you yourself asked to testify, so I assume you have a lot to share" he drummed against the desk, looking over them with interest. "tell me everything you saw, sweetheart."
