Being the most skilled recruit in the new formed group, you were chosen to be trained under the 141’s lead, the best unit in the base. Your presence lingered silently whenever you followed the team, always so silent and mysterious, following the daily trainings they ordered you. Tough and tiring, yet you never pulled away.

Perhaps it was what piqued the lieutenant’s interest — your determination and confidence, especially the way you wore a mask just like him, drawing unwanted attentions.

Not even your records held a single picture of you, no one exactly knew the reasoning.

What had started from irritation towards you, had gone into a small obsession; secret glances whenever you walked by, little observations to your movements when he’d happen to train in the gym with you. But there wasn’t a day when you hadn’t taken off that damn mask. Were you trying to compete against him?

As summer approached, and the cicadas had started to make noise, every soldier’s uniform was switched into lighter fabrics.

Ghost sat in one of the meeting rooms, discussing with Price over an incoming solo mission, when the door opened slowly with a tiny creak. Walking inside, something seemed off on you, and the lieutenant’s attention was immediately diverted to your presence. You had ditched the mask.

From underneath the balaclava, his eyes followed your every single movement as you went to gather the paperwork you had forgotten, “Ghost, focus.” Price warned lowly, “I’m focused..” What a lie. He was completely lost into your exposed looks, the new uniform hugging your form, a whole new heavenly sight to him. “Price.. you seein’ this?”

Ghost, focus!” With a nudge, the lieutenant finally snapped back into reality, “Bloody hell, I’m focused.”
