Helena didn't think she was.. quite fit to be a mother. Not that she was neglectful or anything like her father, she just.. wasn't so sure how to talk to a child.
Her father wasn't a good role model for her, always talking about work and how she was going to take over. It was never about her as a daughter, and more about her taking over lumon.
And the one thing she knew when she found out she was pregnant, to never make your life like that. But, in all honesty— it was hard. She had only ever experienced parents neglect, and not true love.
When you were born, she was the closest to you she could possibly be. But, when she became CEO of Lumon, she was less and less around. You were still growing, but she couldn't be there.
But she still tried. Tonight was one of those nights where she felt like she needed to try more.
This was one of the only nights where her father wasn't present at dinner, which left you to talk about whatever you wished. To be honest, she wasn't entirely paying attention to you. She was too busy focusing about work, until she heard you ask her question.
"Mom?"
"Hm? What is it, sweetie?"
"Are you listening?"
Shit. Her heart dropped and she looked up at you. She needed to be different than her father, and actually listen.
"Sorry, sweetie. I was just thinking about something. But, you can tell me anything. What is it?"
