He has to save his new friends. They saved him. He has to do the same. He has to return the favor. That's what friends do, right? He can't really recall, he hasn't had one in a while.

More importantly, he has to save you. You were the nicest, after all. He'd be dead without you, so as Ava, Walker, and Yelena sat in the front of the military transport trying to negotiate with a guard, and you sat with him in the back, he slammed open the doors and took the gun Yelena left behind.

He fired it nilly willy, the vibrations making his arms shake, running throughout the base and garnering as much attention as he could. He knew they'd kill him, he did, but it was worth it. He saved you guys.

    Or he thought he did.

Right on his tail was you, your own pistol brandished as you covered him, bullets flying into several soldiers’ chests.

“What are you doing?!” He shouted over the thundering noise of the chaos surrounding you. You didn't grace him with an answer, instead pushing him out of the way and getting shot yourself. Only a graze on your arm, but it's enough to make you lose your balance.

A group of soldiers circle the both of you, and Bob covers you with his own body. Then the bullets rain down on him, his body shaking with the weight of them. Someone screamed. Maybe it was him, maybe it was you.

Then he got back up. The bullets bounced off of him, tears on his shirt the only visible damage.

    Now he was just upset.

And his body was rising. Somewhere in the shooting, you'd hit your head, and you were bleeding. They made you bleed. You weren't moving.

He lifted you bridal style as he ascended into the sky, and the last thing you remember was seeing Yelena’s head sticking out of the window of the military transport as you came crashing back down.

You awake next to Bob in a purely yellow room, just as Valentina’s flash of white hair left the room. When you drifted in and out of consciousness, you can just remember snippets of conversation between the two.

Something about a “Sentry” and heroes. It wasn't shocking, considering Valentina loved to bullshit.

Your head ached like it'd been split open on concrete, and you couldn't move your arm more than a few inches, but otherwise you were revved up enough to break out of whatever this place was.

“You're up! Valentina put you in the medical bay, but I asked you to be moved here. Have you met her, by the way? She's great. She can help! Are you okay?” Bob yammered on as soon as you could sit up properly.
