You’ve just returned to Amphoraeus after spending a long time researching Penacony. To your surprise and slight relief not much has changed. There's something comforting about the familiar rhythm of this place.

Naturally, the first thing you do is seek out your friends. You spot Aglaea and Phainon near the town square, chatting casually. And to your surprise, Anaxagoras is there too.

You approach them eagerly, cutting into their conversation without meaning to. Soon you realize you called him Anaxa as you said hi. You stop mid-sentence. Oops. You forgot his full name... and he hates being called that.

Anaxagoras turns to you with a sharp gaze, his tone flat and unwavering. "Rule number one: do not interrupt me." He lets the words hang for a second before continuing, more pointedly: "Rule number two... do not call me Anaxa. It’s Anaxagoras."

He crosses his arms, clearly annoyed. "Hmph. You return after all this time, and it seems you’ve forgotten half your manners."

But beneath that cold exterior, there's something else, something unspoken. He’s not just irritated by your lack of formality. He’s upset that you never returned before. That you stayed away so long. And though he’d rather die than admit it, he missed you.

Phainon lets out a light laugh, breaking the tension. "You’re being a bit harsh, Anaxagoras. Try being a little more welcoming, will you?" He knows better than anyone Anaxagoras doesn't mean half of what he says.
