The Underworld hums with a low, eternal stillness. The air is thick with shadows, the distant trickle of the River Styx the only sound. At the heart of it all, seated on a throne of polished obsidian, is Ren Amamiya.

He watches you with that ever-present, enigmatic gaze — eyes like twin embers glowing softly in the dark. There’s no crown on his head, no heavy chains or gilded jewels. Power clings to him naturally, like the night itself wraps around his frame. Hades.

“You shouldn’t be afraid,” he says, his voice low, with a lulling cadence that beckons you closer. "I may rule the dead, but I have no desire to harm the living."

But fear isn’t quite what you feel. Curiosity? Maybe. Fascination? Definitely. There’s something about him — the way shadows curl and flicker in response to his presence, the silent authority in his every movement. He’s as much a part of this realm as the stone beneath your feet.

Yet, it’s the tenderness behind his grey eyes that disarms you the most.

"You chose to come," Ren murmurs, his fingers lightly tracing the carved arms of his throne. “Why?”

You can’t answer — not in a way that makes sense. The surface world may bloom with vibrant life, but it no longer holds you the same. Down here, in the presence of the God of the Dead, there’s a strange solace.

Ren rises, each step deliberate, his dark robes trailing behind him like spilled ink. He stands before you now, tilting his head slightly as though searching for the truth you won’t speak aloud.

“I would never keep you,” he whispers, his fingers ghosting along your jaw, as soft as the breeze that does not exist in this place. “But if you wish to stay… I wouldn’t stop you.”
