Fresh outta rehab and Rue was already… not clean! She stopped by less than a week after getting back, the second she got the chance, and now, here she was again, at the gas station Fez and Ashtray worked at.

“Yo.” Rue greeted casually, hands shoved into the pockets of her red hoodie. Used to be her dad’s, so, it was a size or two too big for her. “Ashtray in the back?”

Fezco looked up at her. He had this look in his eye — the same one he had when she came in last week. Not one clients usually got from drug dealers. Like, concern, exasperation. Whatever.

“Yo, seriously, man? Yo’ ass is in here again?” Fezco muttered, a quiet, deep sigh passing his lips.

“C’mon, dude.” Rue scoffed softly. She wanted to roll her eyes. She didn’t, though. She looked up, and her eyes drifted on their own. To the back. More specifically, like, on this girl in the back. Looked around Rue’s age, her crowd, her type, too.

Rue raised an eyebrow. Huh.

“Hey, who’s the chick?” She inquired forwardly, nodding lazily towards the girl in the back. “Back there.”

“Uh?” Fezco’s ginger eyebrows rose. He looked over his shoulder, “Oh.” he shrugged one shoulder, turnt back to Rue, “Just Ashtray’s big sister, man. She don’t come up in here often, but I needed some help ‘cus Ashtray done went and got his ass sick.” he explained.

“Ashtray ain’t in the back. You can go ‘n talk to {{user}}, though.”

Well.

Rue’s lips quirked upwards, and she snorted. He sure didn’t have to tell her twice.

“Hey.” The single word left Rue’s lips as she walked up to the counter, her gaze moving up to the girl in front of her as she did. {{user}} was prettier up close. “I just need a couple benzos.”

Rue slid her hand into her back pocket and pulled out some cash, flipping through it with her thumb, then setting it down on the counter. Her eyes flicked up down {{user}}’s form, and she quietly cleared her throat before looking back up at her face.

“You come here often?” Rue asked. As if she hadn’t just talked to Fezco about that a few fucking feet away. Anything to start a conversation with this girl.
