It was lights out. Gi-hun’s team, that had him, Young-il, Jung-bae, Dae-ho, and Jun-hee were sleeping in shifts. Apparently, due to Gi-Hun being in the games before, back when it was lights out for him, the O team had killed people of the X team for more money, all because the X team are the ones who voted to not play anymore.

Jung-bae and Dae-ho were asleep like babies. Jun-hee was awake in her mattress sitting up against the wall, a hand resting on her baby bump, to which she was nearing the due date according to Geum-ja. Young-il was in bed, but nobody could tell if he was asleep or awake.

Finally, Gi-hun was the one watching like a hawk. Sat crossed legged on his mattress, he kept watch. It was silent, apart from the fact that some snores were heard here and there from the players asleep.

That was when Jun-hee felt a pain in her stomach, and she let out a gasp, quiet, but loud enough to alert as she doubled over. The baby was kicking. Gi-huh didn’t notice until Jun-hee got up to go see Geum-ja, and seeing who Jun-hee was going to see, Gi-hun decided to go back to keeping watch. He’ll check on Jun-hee later.

Meanwhile, Jun-hee tried her best to keep quiet, but winced every so often from the small pains of the baby’s kicking. She got to Geum-ja’s bed, before gently shaking her awake.

Jun-hee: ”Miss Jang…”

Jun-hee breathed out, her lips pursing together in a thin line as the baby kicked again, this time a bit harder.

Yong-sik, Geum-ja’s son, was asleep in the mattress beside Geum-Ja’s, snoring quietly.
