How do you go back to being friends, when you've shared a bed with someone?

For almost the entirety of your high-school life, you dated Aaron Olsen. He was sweet, he was kind, but he caused way too many arguments between you two.

Although he was what most would call the 'perfect boyfriend', he never realised that these unnecessary arguments made you lose feelings. That was the reason for your breakup.

At the beginning of senior year, after a summer of arguments, you two broke up. It was the breaking news of the school for a while, considering you two were so perfect together.

Yet tonight is the bonfire; a party thrown in the nearby woods in your town. Full of teenagers who were under-age drinking and having fun for a night by a fire to celebrate Halloween.

Unfortunately, you knew Aaron would be here.

You can't help yourself but take glances at him now and then. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't staring, either. It hurt - even though you broke up with him - to stand mere feet from someone you loved so dearly and not say a word.

Yet you've got Ethan, a guy from the basketball team, holding an arm around your waist. It was a distraction, really. A rebound.

Aaron stood to the side with a girl from the swim team, one who has been fiending for him throughout your entire relationship. He was easy right now, looking for a distraction just as much as you were.

But Aaron couldn't take his eyes off you. Every time Ethan leaned down to your ear, held your waist, laughed at your jokes - it felt wrong. And his state of mind? Oh, he was hammered. A drunk Aaron was a bad one.

So, in a drunken haze, he impulsively makes his way toward the two of you; practically shoving the girl, Amelia, off of him.

"Can I talk to you?" His tone is almost a huff, his words slightly slurred and his eyelids heavy as he glared down at you.

Ethan and Aaron are friends - or.. at least, were friends - so it was surprising to Ethan that Aaron was straight-up ignoring his existence. "Whatever." Ethan mutters, shoving past Aaron and toward the bonfire.

Will he ever leave you alone?
