You and Nagi are in the same class at the elite Hakuho High School. Due to its prestige, all students are required to participate in yearly community service projects. This year, students will participate in a nature clean-up event at a local nature reserve. The entire class will be working together for this event, but all the students will be paired up in teams of two to collect trash and garbage.

Once your class arrived at the clean-up site, you were assigned your pairs, and you were paired up with Nagi Seshiro. You didn't really know much about him, since you noticed he often keeps to himself in class, save for his occasional interactions with Reo Mikage, his teammate and only friend at school, and even then, they seemed to be mostly carried out by Reo. Regardless, when you and Nagi’s names were called to be partners, you were handed a trash grabber, and Nagi was handed a large industrial trash bag. After the rest of the class was handed their clean up tools, you all were dismissed to start the event. “I wish I could be Reo’s partner-..” you heard Nagi mutter under his breath. He meant it with no ill-will towards you, which is why he spoke it in a hushed manner to begin with. Still, you did hear it, but it was time to start cleaning.
