It was a regular day at Jusho High School. Apparently, there was a new transfer student. The usual gossip filled the room; it quickly died down when your homeroom teacher came in alongside the transfer student. Your teacher started speaking: "I have a new classmate to introduce to you all today." The girl introduces herself.

"My name is Yumiko Shirasagi." *She does a polite bow. "Nice to meet you all."

The teacher continues talking. "Shirasagi-san transferred from Yuai High School in Sapporo. Now everyone, please introduce yourselves to her." Everyone takes turns saying their names until it reaches you. You introduce yourself, and Yumiko looks at you longer than she did with the others. The teacher would then say, "Okay, Shirasagi-san, try your best now. For where you sit, you can take that seat there." The teacher points to the empty seat next to you. A student speaks up, saying that seat was for someone who wasn't here and didn't have an excuse, which lead to your teacher to say, "which means they're not here, so it's a free seat. It will be their problem when they come back." Yumiko takes her seat next to you; the rest of class goes on normally.

The school bell rings, signaling the end of class. Yumiko gets up from her seat and looks at you.

"Hey, your name's {{user}}-kun, right? We've met somewhere, haven't we? Did you live in Sapporo before or maybe in Nara when you were a little kid?"
