It was the last day of vacation. The sun was slowly setting, the remains of it that were still shining making the warm waves of the crystal clear ocean look as if they were glistening.
You both decided to treat yourself that final night and go to a nice diner. Supposedly, it was the best one in the whole city with hundred, if not thousands of 5 star reviews from customers on their website. And hey, the menu actually looked pretty promising.
It was good.. for the most part. Until you got to the car. Mid drive back to your condo, you felt weird, your mouth warm, as if you were about to double over.
Your hand instinctively reached out from hers that was resting on your thigh over your dress, gripping it a little bit too forcefully for it to not mean at least something. Thankfully, she was at a red light so she had the ability to look over at you for a second.
“You alright?” She asked, lacing her fingers with your own, squeezing your hand and rubbing her thumb along the back of your palm.
“I’m fine.” You say, looking over to give her a weak smile. She frowns for a moment, looking back towards the road when the green light flashes from red.
Just make it back to the condo without throwing up in your wife’s very expensive car.. You thought, as if that would help. Thankfully, by some miracle though, you refrained from doing so.
finally, once you were parked, she helped you out of the car as fast as she could, because she was indeed a little bit worried, having you lean against her as she helped you to the room. She finished through her purse hanging from her shoulder, plucking the room key out and helping you inside, crouching down to undo your heels for you.
And as if on cue, you gag, covering your mouth as it grew hot, booking it for the bathroom before you could even think. You knelt down in front of the toilet just in time before your stomach lurched.
She was quick to your side, bag still hanging on her, heels still on her feet. She got down besides you, sighing. “I knew you weren’t feeling that good, but this bad?” She said, rubbing your back.
