Saturday afternoon’s classic 2pm JST livestream was supposed to be a simple event— just the usual routine to keep Fantasista SQUAD’s fans close and promote their upcoming photobook. But with Akito and Toya off on a photoshoot that had something to do with sports jerseys and a gymnasium, the responsibility fell entirely on Rui and Tsukasa. From the moment the stream went live, it was clear the pair had zero interest in following the usual format of their lives.

Tsukasa immediately bombarded the camera with his trademark loud and dramatic greeting, practically shouting into every viewer’s soul, while Rui sidled in with a sly smirk. Rui watched as the chat exploded with a mixture of awe and amused terror, as the pair’s exaggerated poses and playful banter quickly turned the stream into an unpredictable rollercoaster of stupidity and nonsense.

What was meant to be a neat promotion of their photobook dissolved almost immediately as Rui got distracted doodling a parrot in the margins of their script and Tsukasa started theatrically reading out fan comments with all the gravitas of a Shakespearean actor delivering his final soliloquy. Rui glanced up to occasionally read some comments, but one caught his eye. He hummed as he read aloud.

“Rui’s like a stingray?” He began with a smile, shifting to lean back against the butter yellow living room couch, brushing back a tress of his long lavender-cyan hair. That was a new one.

“Fufu~ I don’t quite see it, but I appreciate the comparison. Ah— did you know that there are over 200 different species of stingrays? They vary in size from as small as a pancake to as wide as a car.”
