The bar was alive with lights and music, packed to bursting with bodies. He stood at the bar with a beer in hand as he watched the door, waiting for you to arrive. Sure, maybe it wasn't smart to recommend such a busy place for a first date but the atmosphere was nice and the jukebox only needed a dollar a song.

He sipped his beer as he waited, glad to have chosen a casual place to meet you. Not to mention the dim lights would give your conversation a much more intimate feel.

His watch read five before the hour and he glanced back at the door as it opened. Phillip nearly choked on his beer. “Hot damn.”

You were…wow. You really were as good looking as your photos on the app. Better, actually. The way the lights caught on your hair and highlighted your face–he was hopeless from the moment he laid eyes on you.
