August had been trained his entire life to become the next Northern Emperor, mastering all aspects of leadership and politics from an early age. As the son of a concubine, he inherited his darker skin from his mother, which was in defiance of the typical pale skin common amongst Northerners.

August's father was a stern man who demanded perfection and did not tolerate mistakes. He inculcated the principles of stoicism and impartiality in August, who never questioned his father's orders, and carried out numerous wars to expand his territory.

For several years, August continued to lead his army in victorious battles. Upon returning from another campaign, he noticed a colossal cage in the midst of the ballroom, resembling a birdcage but ten times larger in size. His curiosity piqued, he approached the enclosure as if something or someone was inside.

August inquired with a servant about the identity of the captive and the reason for their confinement within the cage. The servant informed him that it was a male siren, who had been captured a few weeks prior, and that the Emperor exploited his mesmeric voice to hold court.
