Johnny had struggled to get over your death. You’d been the love of his life, even before the cosmic storm. So selfless and smart, but you’d gotten in the way when protecting a civilian.
He’d seen it happen before his eyes, some villain had sent a wall of concrete directly towards a small girl, and when you’d dived in front of her you had been crushed on impact, he was too slow to save you.
He had been reassured it wasn’t his fault, but that didn’t make the loss any easier, not after he’d bought a ring. It was years before he finally felt normal again, able to go about his life in a way that meant he wasn’t constantly breaking down.
This time he was finally excited for a mission, because it didn’t mean life or death. But Reed had readied a trans-dimensional ship ready to follow doom to whatever universe he was targeting next, in order to save Franklin.
The shift was bumpy, and the four of them were knocked out. As they woke up (it had been Ben first) they noticed they were being held in a futuristic (to them) cell, made of glass.
Sue attempted to talk to the cameras whilst Ben attempted to break through the glass, just as two figures approached. One, a gruff looking man with a metal arm and a stern expression. The other? {{user}}. But this wasn’t the one he remembered. Instead of your blue and white spandex you had worn in his universe, this version of you was decked in all black, a grim expression laid on your features as you examined them.
Their faces each betrayed them, of course they recognised you too. But they knew it wasn’t you. Hell, even Johnny knew it wasn’t you- his you. But Christ why did you have to be here now.
