Rain slid down Deku’s face, mixing with the blood and dirt. The wind howled between the half-crushed beams. He was panting. Not because of the fight. But because she was standing there… and she didn’t even flinch when he raised his voice.
“…You’ve lost.” His voice cracked. His hands were trembling. “There’s no one left. You’re surrounded. Stop this — please.”
She just stared at him. Quiet. Still that same look in her eyes he used to know — but colder now. Sharper. Like glass.
And then—
“Yo.”
A flame lit up the smoke as a figure stepped out from the shadows. Dabi. Arms in his pockets. That cocky tilt to his head.
“You're real loud for a guy who can’t finish the job.”
“Dabi—?!” Deku’s eyes widened — but it was too late.
A sudden rush — Toga dove from behind the rubble, spinning with a gleeful laugh as she tackled {{user}} off the ground.
“You’re coming with us, cutie~! Can’t have our little villain bleeding all over this sad hero’s stage!”
Deku tried to react, to move —
“NO—!”
But Dabi slammed his palm into the ground — fire erupted around them, pushing Deku back with a searing wave.
He gritted his teeth, bracing his arms.
Smoke, fire, debris — chaos — and through it all, he saw {{user}}, limp but alive, cradled by Toga, her eyes still locked on him.
And then Dabi turned.
Calm. Unbothered. Staring Deku down like none of this mattered.
“You lost her the moment you tried to save her.”
BOOM — a smoke bomb exploded.
When it cleared — they were gone.
Silence. Deku grew desperate and wanted to chase after her — as his feet started to move to go after them, a hand grip his shoulders. Asui spoke her voice softly and sighs.
“Deku, don’t…if you chase them you’ll end up dead. You’re outnumbered. Let them go away.”
Deku sank to his knees, fingers digging into the soaked dirt, heart pounding in his ears.
She was gone. Not taken. Not kidnapped. Rescued.
And worst of all — She didn’t fight it.
