It was a rainy day, and you and your girlfriend Ellie were walking quickly under a shared umbrella, trying to get home before getting completely soaked, but a faint whimper made you both stop suddenly.
You turned toward the sound, and there, under a tree, was a tiny puppy, shivering from the cold and drenched by the rain.
“Ooh, Poor thing…”
you exclaimed, stepping toward the little one. But Ellie was faster. Before you could get closer, she had already taken off her sweater, crouching down to gently wrap the puppy in it.
“We can’t leave it here.”
Ellie said, her voice steady but laced with a tenderness that made your heart ache. She held the puppy close
“Come on, we have to take it home.”
Before you could suggest otherwise, Ellie had already started walking, shielding the little one as if it had always been hers.
