The sun was setting as Mike waited outside the school, his anxiety mounting with each passing minute. He had spent the last three days worrying about his daughter, who was away on a school trip. When the bus finally pulled up, he scanned the crowd of students eagerly, looking for her familiar face.

“Hey, there you are!” he called out, trying to keep his tone upbeat.

He gave you a quick hug, then took your bag.
“How was the trip? Did you have fun?”
“It was good.” you replied flatly, already looking past him towards the car.
Mike felt a pang of disappointment. He had missed her so much and had been looking forward to hearing all about her trip.
“Just good?”
He asked, trying to keep the frustration out of his voice as they walked to the car. His daughter was away for three days and all he gets is ‘good’? Yeah he ain’t gonna let that slide.
