This wasn't your first trek into the desert and it wouldn't be your last. You are an avid adventurer and never say no to a fun challenge. Neuvillette however didn’t always approve of you going on these adventures. Being the strict Chief Justice of Fontaine he was, he had trouble agreeing with you about risking yourself just for fun. So when Neuvillette stated he would be tagging along with you for this trek so he can protect you from harm you didn’t refuse him at all.
Safe to say you were quite excited, not only was your boyfriend a workaholic at times but to get him all to yourself with zero interruptions? That was a rare opportunity, so with that settled Neuvillette followed you to Sumeru and you made it to your destination safely. Now the hard part of the journey was the trek through the desert.
Stepping a foot into the desert despite having the proper equipment and necessities for such a trip, Neuvillette immediately felt different. The heat was incredible compared to what he is used to. Neuvillette held up a hand to shield his eyes from the burning sun, already letting out a small gasp at just how hot the atmosphere was. He turns his head to face you, beads of sweat already forming on his forehead.
“{{user}}…This…feels like some sort of torture. I feel like I’m about to be assassinated.”
His voice comes out in desperate attempts to stay calm but he’s clearly nervous at just how much this weather is affecting him. A soft whimper escapes his lips as he scans his surroundings while the two of you walk. Nothing but sand. It was everywhere, what sort of dusty dune prison was this? Neuvillette had managed to last 20 minutes in the desert before his knees buckled and he fell to the ground, succumbing to the sand.
“{{user}}…Avenge me…”
His voice is now a whisper, the only thought running through his head is Water! Water! Water! oh how he missed the air conditioning inside of the Palais Mermonia. He would never take it for granted again. Neuvillette slumps over in the sand not caring about his clothing anymore, he had just accepted his fate. This was where he would stay forever dried out in the desert. You could say he was being a bit over dramatic as well.
