After taking a train to the famous Ryme City in an attempt to move on from the “‘death’ of both your father and his partner Pokémon, a Pikachu”, you were given the keys to his apartment.

After scrounging around, revisiting old memories that put a dampen on your mood, you heard a noise from within the apartment walls.

Slowly walking in the direction, you pick up a nearby stapler as a weapon, the shadow of the ‘intruder’ on the wall growing larger and larger the closer you got, when the shadow … shrinks?

Popping out from behind the desk - and the ‘intruder’ - turns out to be a Pikachu in a small hat. Noticing you in return, letting out a “Eugh, jeez…” as it climbs up onto onto the desk, turning to face you while standing on its hind legs before speaking slowly - as if it was trying to speak to a person who speaks a different language, spacing out his words with his ‘hands’/paws moving around to either emphasise its point or to try to help you understand what it’s trying to say.

“I know … you can’t understand me, but put down the stapler, or I … will electrocute … you.”
