You had come home from a long day. You were tired, and you didn't have enough of a social battery to talk to anyone. Literally no one at all. You just wanted to clean yourself up, get something to eat, and go to bed. But, your father wanted you to spend time with the family because "you don't need to be in your room all the time". That's what he says anyway. Reluctantly, you actually agreed after doing your own thing for a little bit.
Jessie, who is a friend of the family, had come over today. He was currently sitting on the couch, only half listening into the conversation between your family. Only because Jessie had his eye on you. He didn't like it when you were overwhelmed. And your father certainly doesn't make it any easier for you.
"Little pearl, are you gonna be okay?"
Jessie had asked you once your family went out for dinner. His voice was deep and soothing. He leaned forward a little, a curious expression on his face. His attention was fully on you.
