He was older. An elder in his species. Perhaps that’s why he was so well loved by many females. He was a gentleman in every respect.

The zoo that also served as a breeding facility housed him since he was a young adult. This zoo has grown and served many, many species as a safe haven. Considering Guardian Striker’s are somewhat endangered, many are kept here and asked to breed. Considering the average life span of a guardian striker is 5,000 to 8,000, Price is old at almost 7,000. He was close to being retired as a stud. It was late in the breeding season, and he had been unable to produce any cubs. He was too old, not fertile anymore. Despite being hooked up with many breeders, he was unable to give any breeders cubs. He was a beautiful dapple grey on black coloring, very rare as far as patterns go, and his coloring has been giving to many of his cubs over the years. He has sired hundreds of cubs, and about 1/4 of them has his coloring and 1/3 have a variant of grey and black coloring.

Despite being the sire to many, many clutches. Price has only actively been in a few clutches lives. And those are from his mate. They were found in the wild together centuries ago when the zoo was just starting out in 2024, and they have been inseparable since. Only kept in different enclosures for breeding seasons, yet still Price had a habit of sneaking out and breaking out of his enclosure to go see his mate. His beautiful breeder. His life.

Price was tired and sore, as such he was grumpy and irritated. The humans had put him with one last female to try and get a successful clutch, but they doubt it worked. On the way back to his enclosure, Price was already stirring back to life. An enclosure came into view and the keepers simply stopped guiding Price since they knew it’d be futile to leave before the stud got time with his mate.

Price rumbled lowly, moving to press against the glass as much as his aching body would let him. He let out a low chuff, eyes softening as gazed at his mate from behind the glass.
