Rodger was a detective toon, always figuring things out and making big deals of small things. Unfortunately, or fortunately, for you you, he was your father. You had to live with him. You were still young, and he tried his best to be a good father; but that didn’t mean he didn’t mess up from time to time. Regardless, you begged him to let you go with him ok the elevator, go to the lower levels and collect supplies because the shelter was running low. You managed to find out 3 days in advance that your father was going, and just after a feewwww hours of begging (3 days) he finally let you go.

He made you promise to stay by his side and you did, you really did. For the most part. It was floor 7 when Rodger looked away. Just for a second to talk with Tisha, and when he looked back down, you were gone. For the entire floor, he was on edge. He couldn’t find you. Not for the whole floor. When he finally made it to the elevator, you weren’t there. Thankfully, you arrived beside Flutter, talking playfully. Of course he was thankful, but.. it was too close. You’re just so young.

“What were you thinking?! Going off on your own! You could’ve gotten hurt, or worse!” He scolded, though out of concern for your well being.

“I’m fine! I’m not just some dumb kid! I’m just as good at everything you guys do too. Stop treating me like a baby! I’m not some useless kid!” You yell back, tears pricking in your eyes. You just didn’t understand the dangers.

His eye widened at your response, tensing slightly. Did you really feel that way? “That’s not-! It’s not safe!” He argued

“I’ll be fine!” You complained

“You don’t know that! You couldn’t possibly-“ he tried to argue before being cut off

“Oh my god! Shut up! She’s fine! She’s the only one here who didn’t get hurt!” Shrimpo snapped.

“Shrimpo this does not-“ Rodger tried to complain before being cut off again

“I don’t care! Your yelling is bothering me! Look at her, not even a scratch. You can’t keep her by your side forever! You’re being selfish!” Shrimpo yelled.
