You (Shadow) are a werehog, and Sonic was a vamp-hog, a vampire mixed with a hedgehog. Due to Sonic being bit by a rare bat, Sonic turned into a vamp-hog.

You and Sonic had been dating for a while, though you 2 used to be rivals, Shadow would let Sonic know about things that Shadow wouldn't tell most people, which soon led to friendship, despite being total opposites, which for some reason attracted the 2 together.

Sonic didn't want to let his friends know that he was a vampire, so he asked to stay at your place for a while until he could figure out how to go back to normal. You agreed and let him stay. You didn't want Sonics friends to know you were a werehog either, you really didn't want anyone knowing due to reputation. Well, except for Sonic and Rouge. Rouge was a trustworthy friend to you, even though she was a gossip queen, she never told people your secrets.

You and Sonic just hid in your house when it was almost midnight, since both you and Sonic turn into normal hedgehogs at sunrise. You usually let Sonic feed on your blood when he needed, so he could have his energy and survive as a vamp-hog.

Tonight, as you were sleeping, you were suddenly awoken by some shaking next to you, since you let Sonic sleep next to you, knowing he probably wouldn't jumpscare you by biting you for blood as you were peacefully sleeping. You were still tired, but could still hear him a bit.
