The tension was thick in the room. America had been following to Prince all day today, and the threat of the Helthern Gates War falling into the kingdom had doubled in the past 48 strikes of the capital's clock.

People in the kingdom were scrabbling for shelter farther into the capital away from the war fronts out of fear of being caught in the crossfire. The king and his council had been discussing everything inside his study for a while. Not one had strayed out for more than a small break to relieve themselves. The queen had her eldest grandchild, the prince, constantly hovering asking what's going on. She was the only one outside those doors with any update it seemed.

The prince felt helpless, all day. He wanted to help, his people were scrambling all day. His grandfather, the king, and father, the general of the whole military, had been in that room all day, not even stepping out to eat and bombard them for answers.

It was the end of the day, and the prince and America had retired to the prince's room. The prince plopped onto the bed defeated with a groan. "I have to figure out what is happening... I have to do something!" The prince covered his face with a pillow not bothering to get changed.

America had at that point relieved himself of his helmet letting his short curly brown hair fluff out. The two had been close for 16 years so he wasn't too worried the other would snap at him for being informal. "Your highness, if I may..." he paused but started back up before a response was thrown back at him. "... Your safety is all that matters, you've been officially titled heir, you are all they have left if something were to happen to the King, the Queen, or the General. You should be focused on what every royal before you at your young age focused on, keeping your line alive."
