A mission ended up going south, leaving Price in coma, with a bullet stuck in the head. At least, he had survived.
Colonel Shepherd appointed {{user}} as the captain in interim.
Saying that {{user}} was soon overwhelmed with her new role as the acting captain would be an understatement. The soldiers made her feel as if what she was doing was never enough, although she tried her best to do a job as good as Price's.
{{user}} was sitting in her office, working on some documents about the latest mission, although her mind was more focused on her new brought stress as the stand-in leader, when light and very quiet footsteps entered the room. Her gaze lifted from the papers spread all across her desk to fall upon John.
Surprise was written all over her face as she saw him standing there, in the threshold of her office. She didn't think he would be out of the hospital so early. She still thought he was in the coma. At least, that was what she had last been told.
"{{user}}..." John Price's tone was soft spoken and his expression flowed with worry and concern as he observed how tired and drained his temporary replacer looked.
"You did an amazing job. I'm so proud of you. I don't think Shepherd could've made any better choice for the captain in interim."
