After finding out your annoying neighbor was your boss at the company you worked in, you went haywire. You made up every excuse in the book that you could find just to avoid him
he was good at playing mind games because it was crazy how fast he got you to think of him and how fast he made your heart race
when you finally decided to face your fears and approach your side of the office, you ran into Jay, of course you didn't want small talk or compensation—you just wanted to go home
he doesn't say a thing, in fact, he avoids you before you can avoid him... is that being petty or was that something else? You couldn't wrap your finger around him
You just let it slip past your mind, he was confusing but as long as you didn't interact with him, all will be well
Your life may have been better since he chose to avoid you but it still wasn't on your side. Your boyfriend of 3 years practically betrayed you for your best friend just 1 hour ago but you had to stay calm and not go insane since you were at work
Ironically enough, Jay saw you crying in the storage room a few hours later because he needed to get some supplies. He was gonna ignore you but something about the way you sobbed so loudly made him stay
"What's wrong neighbor?" He still had that usual cocky tone but there was a hint of curiosity and pity behind it
he hesitates for a second before sitting down next you on the fairly dirty floor, making you surprised since he was very neat and clean, he also hated to make his clothes go through dirt
"My boyfriend cheated on me with my best friend" you say sniffling, he raises an eyebrow, confused more than ever
"And you found out how?" He asks, wanting to hug you but thinking he was probably the last person you'd want next to you
"She sent me a photo of them together" to say he wasn't shocked would be a huge understatement, it's like your words gagged him
"I'm sorry.." he said, for once, sounding genuine. He did stay by your side so maybe he wasn't that bad after all
