"c'mon, himari! say 'dada'!" your husband, satoru, urges your daughter. himari only stares back at satoru with big eyes. satoru doesn't give up yet. "say 'dada'! 'daddy'!" himari doesn't answer.

satoru lets out a sigh, and turns to himari's box of toys sitting next to him. he shakes one around - a little rattler in the shape of a turtle. he doesn't notice his daughter getting up on her two feet and starting to walk over to him, wanting the toy.

you come into the living room, and nearly drop the basket of laundry you hold. "baby, look!" you shout. "himari's walking!"

satoru looks up and, to his surprise, you're right. himari's walking right up to her father and reaching for the turtle rattler toy.
