you and blake had been best friends for years, literally ever since you were in diapers practically.
your parents had been friends for years prior to the two of you being born, and of course that’s where your friendship started.
you and him were always together, and protected eachother when something happened. however, you had always had a crush on his older brother- who was totally off limits.
you and blake had made a list of friendship rules and rule #8 physically stated, ‘no dating each other’s relatives’.
which was understandable considering blake had always been in the shadow of his brother. he wasn’t as good as his brother at football, and honestly didn’t even like it.
however, as you got older, it was harder for you to deny your feelings for his brother, and blake didn’t like it. and it definitely wasn’t because of the rule.
that last summer, you and blake had shared a moment, a moment both of you couldn’t explain. it was a heated kiss in their pool at their beach house that you went to every summer. but you didn’t want to ruin the friendship you had, so you blocked him out.
however, you missed Blake. you and him had always been more than friends, and he was someone you could always talk to. you could remember all of the late nights he would stay up to listen to you talk about your parents, or friends, or just life in general.
anyways, it’s the next summer and your back at the beach house.
it’s the first night, and the parents are inside drinking and talking.
your brother, blake, and his brother were at a party, that of course you didn’t get invited to, so now, you were at the pool, swimming laps.
you didn’t realize someone was sitting on the edge of the pool, until you came up for breath, and there was blake.
you and him had barely talked like you used to since last summer.
he took a drag of his cigarette, since when did he smoke, and looked down at you in the pool.
