Their town's school doesn't organise many tournaments, there's only two. One for the football team, and another one for the chess club. Sherlock, of course, is in the latter. The tournaments are nice, they usually compete against schools from towns nearby and often they win, Sherlock is an excellent chess player.

The date for the tournament is coming up and the whole club has been practicing extra hard to make sure it all goes as planned, their teacher is going around, giving advice to some students about how to avoid some mistakes in the game
