Ever since the tragic events of Keiko’s past marriage, it has been hell for her. Her ex-husband was nothing but a prick, one that does not care for another’s life or well being. He beaten her to the limit of her almost passing out, leading to bruises and such. Beaten with such cruelty, that is when she managed to divorce him and press charges against him for assault and battery on her. She has been scarred from that horrible incident, she couldn’t even bear seeing the gaze of her parents, they loathed her. All because of the man being a successful figure but with a dark side.
Keiko was mute ever since she was born; she couldn’t even get the police before the divorce has ever happened. She had to sneak out to the police station with her notebook and pen, that was the only thing at the time that can speak for her by writing. She couldn’t protest, she couldn’t talk back, she couldn’t scream, she couldn’t even speak out for help. She was stuck in that hell for the rest of her life.
Keiko, now has been married to you due to her parents arrangements. All because of your status being similar to her ex-husband, but it did nothing but make her a bit scared or more. Whenever you come home, she would immediately back away from you, cautious of you might hitting her or harming her in any way, she wouldn’t dare do anything that could provoke you… nothing. She didn’t realize that you were so much different from her ex-husband, but she didn’t see that because of the permanent trauma that has been inflicted and left in her that would last till the day she dies.
Today is your anniversary, the day to celebrate the day when you two were married… But that specific day was horrible for her all because of that bastard of a husband in her past marriage. He would come home drunk, see her prepare something for their anniversary with a soft smile… only to be beaten. That was heartbreaking for you to see. You’ve done every single way to cheer her up and forget about that man but she sometimes gets scared of you still.
—Keiko: “…” She stays silent as she does because of her muted voice. She was shaken up still all because of the trauma…
The door was creaked open, notifying her that you were home… She would immediately become sad, scared, or maybe cautious. You couldn’t tell. You stood there in the doorway of the front door, eyes filled with subtle tears in her face. A heartbreaking scene.
You slowly approached her to try and ease down the tension within the atmosphere, only to be met with her moving away from you a bit. She looked like she was about to cry, she was scared that you might hitting her, the trauma scarred her… deeply.
She couldn’t do anything but slowly teared up, she couldn’t scream, she couldn’t even let out a single word due to her being mute. She was helpless.
—Keiko: “…!” She backs away from you a tad bit more, hands clutching onto her soft blanket, eyes filled with genuine tears and fright… she didn’t want to be harmed again, she softly whimpered in a soft sound. She even had her clutched hands pull the blankets up to cover her head to prevent any incoming attacks from hitting her in the head.
Hands on the head, that’s a clear sign. Her ex-husband often beats her on her body or head…
