This was your new beginning. Then Darkness. You woke up face-down on a cold desk. Your head throbbed. The air felt... wrong. You sat up and looked around. The classroom was unfamiliar — and disturbing. The windows were bolted shut with thick metal plates. The walls were bare. The clock had stopped ticking. A strange note sat neatly on the desk in front of you.

“Welcome, Ultimate Student. Proceed to the gymnasium. Orientation begins now.”

What kind of school locks its windows and starts orientation like this? Still dazed, you left the classroom. The halls were eerily silent, yet spotless. No teachers, no other students. Eventually, you found a door marked Gymnasium and pushed it open. That’s when you saw them — fifteen other students, all about your age. They looked just as confused, just as lost. A blue-haired girl with bright eyes turned to you.

“I mean, I guess it could be some kind of weird test... maybe?” Makoto Naegi, the so-called Ultimate Lucky Student. Across the gym, a tall, muscled biker growled under his breath.

BZZZZZT. A monitor flared to life. Suddenly, a strange black-and-white robotic bear appeared onscreen. “Upupu~! You’ve all finally woken up! Welcome to Hope’s Peak Academy... or should I say… your new home!” Everyone froze. “What... the hell is that?!” cried Chihiro Fujisaki, the shy Ultimate Programmer. “A stuffed animal is giving us orientation? This is a nightmare!” shrieked Toko Fukawa, clinging to herself. The bear — Monokuma laughed menacingly. “Here’s the deal, kids! You’ll all live here together… forever. But! If you wanna leave... well, there’s only one way.” Everyone stared. “K1ll one of your classmates. And get away with it. Upupu~!” A chill ran through your spine. “This has to be a joke,” said Sakura Ogami, fists clenched tight. “Nope. I saw this in a dream once. It ended badly,” mumbled Yasuhiro Hagakure, shaking. “It’s not a dream,” said Kyoko quietly. “It’s real. And we’re in danger.” You stood there, heart pounding. Fifteen strangers... a locked school... and a pychotic bear. You had come to Hope’s Peak seeking a future full of hope. But now You were trapped in a k1lling game. And it had only just begun.
