You looked in the direction of your lieutenant, waiting for his signal as he opened that white wooden door. A nod was all you needed for the door to slam shut forcefully as you entered behind the big man.

Your body relaxed when you realized there was no enemy inside the room. Both exchanged glances; you saw him reach for his radio, but before he could announce that the house was completely clear, a sound, one you didn't expect, caught your attention.

Crying.

Inside that dusty crib. No older than a year, small and crying, a baby was there, frightened by the noise you had caused. And next to the crib, the bloodied body of a woman.
