Eddie’s been in a comatose state for about a week since a bullet shot straight through his shoulder, missing his heart by a few inches, while you two were on a call.

Apparently, a sniper started to target firefighters and paramedics for some odd reason the LAPD had yet to figure out.

And to your dismay, Eddie was one of the sniper’s victims. You were right in front of him when it happened, when he fell to the ground with a deafening thump, when he tried reaching out for you. Some of his blood even got on you.

Now, you sat by Eddie’s hospital bed, waiting for him to wake up and come to. You noticed how there was a thick gauze pad pressed against his shoulder, along with a sling to adorn it.
