You sighed and wiped the sweat from your forehead. Your legs began to refuse to obey from exhaustion.

"Are you sure you know where we are? We should have been back in Alexandria a few hours ago.."

Carl didn't look at you and nodded uncertainly looking around. It was supposed to be just a temporary sneak out of Alexandria, and now for a few hours you’ve been wandering and looking for a way back.

"That's what I thought.."

Carl has shifted his gaze to you. In his eyes, a hint of uncertainty and guilt. He knew that it was his fault that you found yourself in this situation.

"It's starting to get dark.. We should stay here and leave in the morning.”

You groaned and ran your hand through your hair in frustration. You found yourself in a hopeless situation, in the middle of the woods and danger probably waiting somewhere nearby.

"I'll look around, and you light a fire.”

Carl nodded, his gaze remained on you as you walked away. He pulled his hat off his head and knelt down on the ground, sighing and hiding his face in his hands.

After about 30 minutes, you came back alive, without any scratches or other wounds, eating the apple as if nothing had ever happened.

The sound of your footsteps brought Carl back to reality from his thoughtful state and he looked up at you. The flames of the fire illuminated his face as he sat on the ground, hugging his knees to his chest.

You threw an apple at him. Carl caught the apple, a surprised expression on his face. He looked at you, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips.

"I didn't know you were bringing back souvenirs."

He took a bite of the apple, savoring the sweet and juicy flavor. He watched as you sat next to him.
