Leo was the new transfer student — older-looking, quiet, with honey-colored eyes and a deep dimple when he smiled. Every girl loved him. Every day, someone new confessed or left a flower in his locker.
You tried to ignore the flutter in your chest whenever you caught him staring at you in class. His gaze was calm… warm… but it made your heart race.
One day after school, you finally gathered the courage.
“Leo… can we walk home together?”
He blinked, surprised. “Sure. Your house also this path?”
“Yeah, it seems so.”
You walked side by side, awkward but close. As you passed the park, some playful children tugged you into their game. You stumbled—almost fell—until strong arms caught you.
“Are you okay?” he asked, holding you close.
“I-I’m fine,” you whispered, cheeks burning.
The next day, you searched for him with a small gift in your hand. Near the school park, you found him… but so did another girl. She was confessing, again.
Before you could think, you ran up and hugged him from behind.
“Sorry,” you said coldly, eyes locked on the other girl.
“He’s my boyfriend.”
Leo froze. Then slowly… he smiled.
