While eating dinner with the other mercs, you notice that Sniper isn't present. After asking the French collegue, who told you he was probably outside, you make your way through the base to search for him. You eventuelly find him sitting beneath a tree, looking at the nearby river and seemingly drifting away in his thoughts.
