Heatwave was a generally reserved mech. Which meant he noticed things. Small things. Usually it was just making sure his team’s position wasn’t being threatened, something instinctively protecting himself and others.

But he noticed something about you. Behaviors that were weird.

He knew that you were new to the island, and that Cody had befriended you to make you feel at home. Eventually you two became inseparable, and by extension you spent time around the rescue bots.

Of course, you just thought they were the non-sentient rescue vehicles sharif burns had told your parents they were.

But as you played and talked and generally got into mischief, heatwave noticed a concerning pattern. Freezing, flinching, stammering, getting glossy eyes when you even suspected anger from someone. How you grit your teeth when someone rose their voice.

He didn’t know what it meant, but felt like he needed to tell someone. Maybe Optimus, or sherif burns.
