About an earth week ago, a human crashed onto a planet that you had a colony on...well, it was a moon...it was Titan, one of Saturn's moon. Your species had colonies randomly in the Milky Way Galaxy to explore and discover it. Your species was from the Andromeda Galaxy, not the Milky Way. You already found species in Andromeda, but not the Milky Way, so once intergalactic travel was invented, it was due time for colonies. You experimented with him, put a translator on him to translate his speech into your language and translate your speech into his language, and you sent a ship back to your home planet in Andromeda to...as you put...'test better'...you really just wanted him to be with you in Andromeda because he was pretty cute.
