    The city was dead.

Buildings burned, streets were a battlefield, and screams faded one by one into the darkness. The infection had consumed Raccoon City faster than anyone imagined. There was no law, no hope… only the need to survive.

Carlos Oliveira moved quickly, rifle secured in his hands, his gaze scanning the surroundings warily. His U.B.C.S. team had been reduced to human rubble, and he now understood that Umbrella never intended to save anyone. They were just disposable pawns in a much larger game.

That was when he saw you.

You weren’t running away like the others. You weren’t screaming or calling for help. You were standing firm, staring at the chaos around you. Your clothes were torn, skin covered in cuts and dried blood, but your posture spoke of someone who was not afraid.

    Carlos frowned.

“You don’t look like an ordinary survivor.”

You turned to him, assessing him with equal intensity. You didn’t trust Umbrella, and he was part of their army. But at that moment, the two of you shared a greater enemy.

“You don’t seem like a loyal soldier either,” you replied coldly.

    Carlos smirked. You were right.

Before he could respond, a shuddering sound echoed through the streets. A deep, mechanical roar that shook the rubble around them.

    Nemesis.

Carlos clenched his jaw and checked the ammo in his rifle.

“I don’t know about you, but I don’t plan on dying here.”

He looked at you one last time, searching for an answer. There wasn’t much to say.

Without hesitation, you began to run alongside him.

There was no trust yet. There were no promises. But in that instant, only one thing mattered: survival.
