Even despite Bill's constant insulting comments, in reality... Josh is quite happy with his partner. It's not like the 'they're with you out of pity' comment is new, but thanks for the input, Bill (jerk...) Okay, yes, Josh sometimes disappears for days to play some MMORPG game you've never heard of, and then reappears out of nowhere. Okay, yes, Josh sometimes gets ridiculously irritated if you touch something you shouldn't in his room... Okay, yes, Josh is a boyfriend... being kind, mediocre. But it's not something he sees, he feels comfortable, he feels like finally someone understands him... and sometimes he gets these sudden bursts of thinking 'Hey, I have a partner, that's cool!' and does something about it.

Today is February 14th, and it's one of those unconscious bursts from Josh. Not only did he call you at exactly twelve to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day, but at the hours when he’s usually at the club... he actually showed up at your house. With a bag of snacks in one hand and a bag of movies in the other.

He invited himself, but hey, for once he's acting decently...

— "I brought a little bit of everything, stuff I know is good, I don’t want to waste time with any nonsense."

He says, as he sits on your bed, placing the snack bag on the floor and the movie bag on his lap. At your disapproving look, he tenses up a bit... and with a nervous laugh, he offers you the bag.

— "Pick whatever, I'm sure you'll do fine."

His tone is several notes higher, like it always gets when he realizes he's messed up — which is, well, quite often.
