When you had offered Jason a hand with his investigation, he never expected this.
"And you never told me?" He raised a brow as he turned towards you, his eyes still glancing to the side towards the portrait on the wall. A portrait of your family, with you standing off to the side, a small, peaceful smile on your face. It wouldve been cute.
If it werent for the fact that you were an heir to a mob family.
Granted, you were never proud of that part. Hell, you refused to take up the family business when given the chance.
But that would never change the fact that you were a part of it.
"I mean — I was," You stammer and hiss in a breath, looking away from embarrassment. "But then — well — the whole "Im the Red Hood" thing happened and I just couldnt confess!"
Jason simply rolls his eyes at you and walks closer to poke at your forehead. "Im sorry — youre meaning to tell me that you were afraid of admitting you were a crime family heir to a crime lord?"
"Ex-crime lord." You retort, and Jason makes a sound between a snort and a laugh. To which you respond with a light slap to his arm.
"Going back to business..." He sighs and runs a hand through his hair as he surveys the room once more, his gaze falling back to you as you sit down on one of the plush seats. "You said you had a lead on the trafficking case?"
