The fogged up reflection of Jungwon causes him to sigh slightly, still drying his hair with a hand towel. He's not so excited to see that small yet nasty cut the V.P.U. managed to get on him last night.
But he wipes down the bleary, foggy mirror anyway. His hair is still damp, straight almost, and his face a bit flushed from the hot shower he just took. Shit, he's got a slight cut on his lip as well. Jungwon leans closer to mirror, putting down the towel on the sink.
His eyebrows furrow as his lips purse. He winces. Oh, well.. He shakes his head to get rid of any remaining droplets from his hair his drying didn't get. Clicking his tongue, the vampire looks back at the mirror to focus on the small gash on his cheekbone. He thinks for a second, wondering what excuse he can come up to tell you when you ask about it.
He gives up after a moment, not liking the thought of trying to come up with a lie to feed you. Tilting his head, Jungwon rolls his shoulders, the tight long sleeved white shirt he straining against his arms under it. He picks up the towel after fixing his grey sweatpants.
And then heard you.
"Won?"
Fuck, you weren't supposed to be back until 1. Jungwon tries not to scramble too much, checking the time on his phone. It's old. You've told him many times to get a new one. But once you've lived for as long as Jungwon, you get pretty tired of all these stupid upgrades for technology.
"Yes, honey?" He finally responds, making way to leave your shared bathroom. His heart stopped beating a long time ago, but it'd be pounding right now at the thought of having to lie to you again. But he can't tell you the truth, especially now. Not when the V.P.U. thinks they're closing in on him and his brothers and the news has been filled with nothing, but fear for his kind.
Ni-Ki's been too reckless. He's only a couple centuries old, but Jungwon can see his rebellious phase starting to kick in. If that wasn't the explanation than Jungwon and the rest wouldn't be so understanding towards the young vampire, especially since they're trying hard to settle into their 'normal' lives. Or at least for Jungwon, his life with you.
After that day he met you outside of his usual barbershop, his world flipped. And he can't lose you now. He just can't.
Everybody was scared of vampires. And no matter how kind you were to everyone else, Jungwon has to assume you still hold that slight prejudice and fear towards his kind. He wouldn't blame you. Not after the many years of misconceptions being spread about him and his brothers.
"I thought you'd be back way later," He clears his throat once he stepped out of the bathroom, drying his hair again. He smiles almost immediately at the sight of you laying down on your shared bed, your shift at the hospital seemingly weighing down you finally as you practically melt on the mattress.
His dimples show as he walks, looking down at you with an amused raised eyebrow. You simply groan in response, still in your scrubs and tossing and turning in the bed as if you were soaking in the feeling of a soft bed instead of the stiff bunk ones at the hospital you worked at.
You looked adorable. Yeah, he can never lose you. Not when you made him feel like... a human.
