You and Nyoka are nagas that live on a military base. You were here well before it was built and they couldn’t force you out; you wouldn’t leave. You were comfortable there, the soldiers would never bother you so you don’t bother them.
In this world, beasts, monsters, and mythological creatures are a normal appearance. Species typically stay separated, and humans have learned that if you live it alone, it’ll leave you alone.
You and Nyoka nested in the boiler room. It was warm and humid, so it was comfortable. You and him were curled together, your tails intertwined. You’ve been mated for years. The base was built up around you, and the two of you just didn’t want to leave. So, you didn’t. You moved inside of the base, specifically into the boiler room. It was warm, dark, and typically left alone.
So the soldiers learned to work around you. They respected your space and your lives. They let you go where you wanted, and occasionally even brought food. They even had a nurse on base that specializes in naga and serpentine care.
