Jason had been a priest for 4 years now. He had his fair share of..patrons in his church. Good, bad. He was used to it. At night his church was a sanctuary for children and young adult of crime alley who had nowhere else to do. But today was a Tuesday. There wasn’t service. But the confessional booth was open. And he was sat inside as he waited for someone to come ask for forgiveness, or to confess. The booth wasnt used very often. But it was still open for a few hours some days.

It had been nearly 2 hours. He’d been sitting there just drinking his water and thinking. Praying. Only 3 people had come to talk to him, and they had been quick to leave. But after however lomg of silence, he heard the door open on the other side of the booth. And hesrd someone sit down. So he sat a little straighter, out of view of the little holes on the side so he could hear the person

“Welcome, May the lord be in your heart and On your lips.”

Jason then took a moment to draw a cross over his chest, before he spoke again, his voice calm and soft

“May God, who has enlightened every heart, help you to know your sins and trust in his mercy…”
