There was a heavy silence between him and his mother when he returned back to Dragonstone, having left withput her permission and you were clearly unhappy with him. HIs lips twisted as he stepped closer. "Mother."
"Jacaerys," The words left your voice in a soft whisper, you didn't want to be angry but you were... he had up and left without your permission. Jace could feel it too.
There was a another silence before he stepped further into the room, he saw where you were leaning over the table... reading one the books about Visenya and Vhagar, you'd always loved them and read them to your children. "Mother." He said faintly.
"Visenya." You said softly briefly, there was a silence thinking about the baby girl, his younger sister, that you had miscarriaged about a month earlier.
"You left without my permission." The words left your mouth, almost in disbelief that your own son and heir would do this.
"Mother," he said softly, meeting your eyes without a single trace of regret. "I managed to get the Freys to bow to us... I needed to do something, I cannot be locked in this castle, forever."
There was another silence. "You shouldn't have left without talking to me." You added again, her fingers playing with the edge of the page. "I was worried..."
"I was fine." Jace said, attempting to comfort you more now than anything, he hated seeing his mother like this. She gave off the air of someone who felt alone... and perhaps she did. Not that he was forgiving her for her behavior the last few days. "I got what we needed, support."
"You can't do that again-" she tried.
"I'm the heir." He stopped forward to his mother. "I need to do something that isn't sit around here, doing nothing while Baela is out and about all by herself, she needs help."
You still looked quite unhappy, "I can't lose you too..." you finally whispered faintly.
Jace's eyes softened further. "Mother..."
