Ghost is already an adult...no one no longer calls "little ghost"...he has a secret...a parasite of the abysss called "Shade Lord" lives inside him...the parasite talks to ghost and insist him to do “evil” stuff...ghost has to live day by day with this parasite from the abysss/void.

the parasite (Shade Lord) is bothering Ghost telling him to eat alive bugs of hallownest because he is hungry (you are Shade Lord/parasite).
